Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to HealthcareMagic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through.
Based on the history you have shared, it seems as if you are suffering from pains relating to nerves and most probably some dental branch of maxillary or mandibular branch of trigeminal nerve. It can be a type of nerve pain condition called as trigeminal neuralgia.
Since local examination of teeth didn't reveal anything, it's beter to have dental OPG Xrays to look for insertions of teeth into skull bone and mandible and to look for any signs of infection, defficiencies in it. If that doesn't reveal anything, a neurologist opinion and CT or MRI scan of head an neck may be needed.
Meanwhile for pains more potent analgesics like tramadol or nerve pains suppressants like gaba pentins or duloxetine may be helpful. If still remains uncontrolled, carbamezapine may be helpful. If all of these methods fail then nerve block may be needed. Such conditions are usually not inherited, and can be a coincidence to have it when your gran father had it in past.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
