Question : I have CHF and caught a cold three days ago. I am having trouble breathing on exertion. It's the weekend and should I go the ER or call my cardiologist?
Brief Answer:
Call Cardiologist.

Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for posting your query.
If your CHF was in controlled condition a common cold shouldn't cause exertional breathlessness.
So difficulty in breathing on exertion means your cardiac condition has slightly deteriorated and hence you do need to call up your Cardiologist as certain medications ( like diuretics ) requires dose escalation.
In case of non availability of Cardiologist then you better go to ER.
Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask .
Regards.
