Question: Hi
I had my right testicle removed for possible tumor on wednesday. I am worried and have the following questions.
1. Would I be able to have normal sexual life going ahead with erection and ejaculation.
2. Would I be able to father a child biologically.
3. Is there any other change which would happen to me which would impact my life negatively.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Nothing to be worried at present.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone surgery and your Right Testis has been removed suspecting it to be malignancy.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Is the diagnosis of malignancy confirmed by histopathological examination?.

If your left testis is normal you should not have any problems as regards erection and ejaculation ,It will not have any negative effect on your sexual potency and you will father a child provided your sperm count ,sperm motility and morphology of the sperm is normal.

Get your semen analysis done once you recover fully from this surgery say after 2 months and consult infertility specialist ,(if required.).

Please note there are so many people with single testis from birth or have single functioning testis have normal sexual life and fathered children.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Thanks doctor. Within how many days of the surgery I would be able to get back to having normal sexual life. Ever since I had surgery three days back I have not got any erection or desire for sex so far. Is this normal ?
As far as diagnosis of malignancy is confirmed, i am waiting for the final biopsy report by mid next week. Once i get the same I shall share with you.

Hello
Thanks for writing again.

Not getting erection in immediate post operative period is common .

Hello Doctor

I masturbated by accident today, 120 hours after surgery. I am fearing will it cause any other effects. If so, is there any medication I need to take or precaution to follow.
