Suggest Treatment For Tumour In Lung

Question: So, I was diagnosed 5 years ago with metatastic prostate cancer that had spread to numerous bone areas (mostly pelvis and spine) and lymph nodes. Fast forward, it has aggressively spread to my rib cage (many spots), sternum, my thoratic (?) spine and lungs. I have a paralyzed right diaphragm but the cannot be helped through radiation given tumor in lung is affecting the nerve. I refuse to undergo chemo given my relatively short LE prognosis. (Fortunately or unfortunately, I look terrific, however). I have shortness of breath and need to prop myself up to sleep. My HCT has been dropping, along with other RBC measures, and is now 27.

So how does this all end? I guess I just get weaker and weaker (I sleep 15 hours a day) until I cannot get around (I am not on )2 yet, as my most recent count was 92). Just looking for honest feedback as to what I can expect. I seem to get worse every day. Thank you in advance.

Brief Answer:
You are mostly developing type 2 respiratory failure.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Since you are having right sided phrenic nerve involvement, there must be paralysis of right hemidiaphragm.
This can cause collapse of right middle and lower lobe.
So chances of type 2 respiratory failure (carbon dioxide retention) in the body is more.
This will cause breathlessness, more in night (supine position) (so that you have have to prop immediately), excessive sleep and increasing weakness.
Sincr it is permanent damage to phrenic nerve, we can not do anything for this collapse lung.
So honestly speaking, your symptoms will increase day by day and you may succumb in advanced type 2 respiratory failure and ultimately die.
Exact life expectancy is not possible, but not more than 1 year.
Sorry for harsh words.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
