Suggest Treatment For Upper Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea
Question: Hello, I have been diagnosed after 20 yrs of seeing different docs for Esophegal Spasms and reflux,
I have had every test know to man kind,nothing these docs did or gave me helped with this upper stomach pain and diarrhea, I have been scoped many time (dilatation) that helped but had to repeat every 6 mo. I'd been taking Bentyl 20 mg for 20 yrs...
I have seen a new GI doc 4 mo ago, he tried Botox injections (no luck with that) then he tried different meds.. That Thank God, Are working, No more stomach pain, No more diarrhea, No Bentyl, I feel I have a life after 20 yrs dealing with this.. That all being said, My question is, the meds this new GI dr has put me on I'm having 'Very Dry Mouth' and in the AM when I get up and need to blow my nose I'm having bloody nose, could one of these meds be causing this dryness n blood?
I'm taking Imipramine 25mg at bedtime, Diltiazem 240mgxt daily, Omeprazole 40mg AM,

Dear XXXX, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns. unfortunately dry mouth is a common side effect of Imipramine 25 mg. while the Diltiazem may cause epistaxis ( bleeding per nose) , sneezing and stuffy nose as side effects.. if you can't accommodate these side effects I recommend you go back to your doctor to replace them or adjust the dose.
