Question : Hello,
Had a UTI about a month and a half ago. After the infection was over my GP referred me to a Urologist. He took blood, urine, and did a ultrasound. Nothing abnormal came up, but yet I still have urethra irritation and the odd pain in my penis and bladder area. He said the irritation would go away but did not get a timeline.
Will these symptoms eventually disappear?

I am sorry to hear that you have a bladder infection 1 1/2 months ago. you were treated but the symptoms of pain or discomfort is still present. Your urologist said it will go away but did not give you a timeline. If it has been 1 1/2 month I would have thought the symptoms would be gone. If you have a prostate infection called prostatitis those symptoms can last months. You may even need antibiotics for 1-2 months. I would recommend that you see your PCP again and see if you have prostatitis and need long term antibiotics. Your symptoms should have already resolved if this was a simple UTI.
