Brief Answer:
Urethritis

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You found blood in your shorts that came from your urethra. This could be just a one time episode of bleeding. If you are on any blood thinner like aspirin or warfarin this is common and nothing to be concerned.

If the bleeding continues it could be an infection either from prostate or a sexual transmitted disease like gonorrhea. If you are sexually active then it might be a STD. To get diagnosed you would need to be seen by a medical provider and get proper cultures. If you are not sexually active or in a monogamous relationship then it maybe prostate infection. This is also very common and may need a long term antibiotic to treat.

In summary
1. Urethritis one time bleeding
2. possible STD if sexually active and need testing
3. If not or monogamous relationship then prostatitis and may need antibiotics

Thank you so much for answering!! I actually am sure I have an STD but have not been diagnosed my girlfriend has been diagnosed. WE have been together a long time so maybe that is it. But it seemed like a lot. It seems to be ok now it's been 3 hours and nothing.

Brief Answer:
Get STD check

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for returning to HCM

I do recommend that you get check for STD. Since you girlfriend has been diagnosed you need to be checked also. Frequently one partner may have symptoms and the other doesn't but as long as one remains without symptoms continues to infect the partner. Both of you need to be checked and treated to get a good clean slate.
