Question : hi, my baby girl is 10 months old, she is putting pressure while passing urine. She was diagnosed with mild UTI, her pead has given her taxim o antibiotic for 5 days whose dose is completed. But after that also she is putting pressure, reflux scan is also done and everything is normal in her case. Can we give alkasol to her? Why she is putting pressure while passing urine?

random urine foe creatinine 13.5 mg/dl
urine for protein creatnine 0.39
urine calcium random 1.3 mg/dl
urine calcium creatinine ratio 0.1:1
in report it is written as significant proteinuria but below nephrotic range.. Please help

                                    Brief Answer:
repeat urine examination with culture
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Urine infection can cause some amount of protein loss in the urine.
I would suggest you to repeat urine routine test and protein along with urine culture to confirm if there is infection and protein loss is decreasing compared to the previous reports.
You can give alkaliniser like you mentioned.
Ensure t o give her plenty of liquids orally.
I suppose the infection is still there and that's why she is straining at urination.

                                    Brief Answer:
repeat tests as advised
Detailed Answer:
Alkasol 3ml thrice daily .
Yes, lots of liquids and lemon juice should be fine.
Repeat tests should decide whether to continue antibiotic or not. If infection is still there you need to continue or change antibiotics.
Ensure that she drinks lot of liquids.

Sir unfortunately Alkasol syrup is not available in near by medical shop. Chemist has given us "Himalaya Renalka" syrup. Can we give this syrup as alkaliniser.
if yes, what should be the dose??? Is it safe medicine for 10 months old baby?
Can we give this to infant???
We will be giving her urine for routine test soon.
