Question : I had a bad coughing fit and then I noticed some vaginal bleeding.....I am in menopause so it shouldn't be a period....is this something to be concerned about....
Brief Answer:
yes
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Vaginal bleeding during menopause can be a sign of uterine or other pelvic cancers so you need to be seen by your doctor right away. Irregular bleeding is normal in the first year after stopping periods but if you have not had a period in over a year then you need to see your doctor right away. You will need a pelvic exam, ultrasound and probably an endometrial biopsy. These can all be done in a gynecologist's office.
Don't delay, see a doctor right away.
