Question: Suffering from vertigo. Believe it is BPPV. Recently had flu. 36 hours dizzy. Do I need medication or is this self correcting? How long does this condition generally last?

Brief Answer:
You are most probably having Vestibular Neuronitis or rhinosinusitis .

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , reviewed your medications and understand your concern.

After reading your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having
Vestibular Neuronitis or rhinosinusitis . BPPV is less likely .

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice
Consult ENT Specialist for Ear Nose Throat examination .
Yes , you do require symptomatic medications for vertigo which are prescription drugs. Most patients recover from severe vertigo and imbalance within 1 week.
Till then , use
Steam Inhalation twice daily,
Saline nasal rinse or spray thrice daily ,
Antihistaminic Tab Claritin (Loratadine 10mg) at night &
continue advils after meal .

Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Regards.
