Atrophic rhinitis. needs work up and management. Talk to ENT
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Dry nose with crusts in it and difficulty breathing indicates atrophic rhinitis likely and needs symptomatic remedies like nasal hygiene, irrigation, surveillance rhinoscopy and antibiotics if need be.
But before labelling it a confirmed atrophic rhinitis we need a little work up to rule out other differentials. A good start is complete blood count, complete metabolic profile, rapid plasma regain, HIV, antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody, C-reactive protein, urine analysis, computed tomogram of the sinuses, and a chest X-ray be obtained as part of the initial action. Nasal cultures don't help much as mucus is almost always colonised by E coli strains.
Nut shell it needs to be correlated for the cause whether primary or secondary. it will likely be secondary and the likely possibility of this will come up once complete clinical correlation is done.
Meanwhile Lavage and lubrication of your nasal cavity is the goal. Lavage your noses with warmed isotonic saline at least twice daily. We recommend using a Water Pik device with a Grossan tip. Other devices, such as bulb syringes, bottle sprayers, and nebulizers are also effective, provided they deliver an adequate volume of solution (>200 ml per side) into the nose.
After lavage, we use one of several agents to lubricate the mucosa. Acceptable products include petroleum jelly or personal lubricants such as KY Liquid .
talk to your otorhinolaryngologist and let them help you in this regard any further.
I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Hope for the best, It could be mere allergic
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me
That makes it less severe and all it needs is some lubrication and moisturization as mentioned and advised in earlier cases. The crusty dry nose needs care symptomatically and work up a little to sort out the cause. It could be allergic as well. Only a complete clinical correlation will tell. Do as directed and see what comes up. let's hope for the best.
i hope it helps.
