Question : My son is 2 years old and has been getting viral fevers every one or two weeks on and off since 5 weeks.He has developed rashes all over the body and has become very irritable once the fever subsides.Though his appetite is normal, he has become very agitated,keeps crying without any reason and is inconsolable at times during these periods.

Better to rule out viral meningitis.

I can understand your concern.
Rashes are common after viral infection.
But recurrent agitation, crying, irritability etc are not common symptoms after viral infection.
These symptoms are commonly seen with meningitis in children.
And viral infection can cause meningitis.
So better to consult pediatrician and get done clinical examination to rule out viral meningitis.
