Question: I have a visible broken rib from coughing. The ER gave pain meds but now 4 days later I have not only a popping sound when I move but the pain is incredible and I am physically able to push the rib, popping(audibly) into place. This Hurts bad but then the pain subsides a bit till I move again.
Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
May be rib separation is the cause; Rib belt helps

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for posting

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

Based on the symptoms, it looks to be a separation of rib. My suggestion is to wear rib belt, that will hold the rib in place beside having the pain killer.

Avoid coughing, sneezing and straining at stool. This takes few weeks time to heal.

Hope this helps and I shall be glad to answer further query.

Regards
