Question : I have a sudden onset of partial opaque vision in one eye. I took a nap and within 5 minutes I began to see waving flashes of light in one eye, while the eyes were still closed. Upon opening my eyes, the eye in question had clear vision at the top half, while the bottom portion was white and opaque. When closing the eye, the clear / opaque patter persists, wi th the clear portion being black and the opaque portion being white.

                                    Brief Answer:
Possible retinal detachment? Require Confirmation
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir.
This possibly indicates a significant retinal pathology.
Painless retinal detachment can be a potential risk in the elderly.
I advise you to go your opthalmologist at the earliest and get an direct ophthalmoscope visualization to determine the location and severity of the lesion.
Further management is largely based on test results.
Thank you.
