Question: I am suffering from Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D3 deficiency. My current level for B12 is 157 pg/mL
and D3 is 15 ng/mL.

I visited a neurologist upon following symptoms-
1. Tingling and swelling in ring and little finger of both hands
2. Weakness in fingers with stiffness

Lately, i am also facing issue of numbness in hands and legs while sleeping and also unusual sensation in my palms and sole.

Neurologist advised me to take following medicines-
1. Trinerve and Neurobian Forte- 2 times a day
2. Shelcal Tablets - 2times a day
3. Calcirol Sachet- 2 times a week

I am taking these B12 and D3 medcines at different times with an interval of 3-4 hours. Also, MRI of my cervical spine and brain is normal.

Please advise me if the dosage are right as per the condition. Also, should i go for further tests to rule out any other possibility.

Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Correct dosage.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
I can understand your concern.

As per my knowledge Neurobion forte and Shelcal 2 times a day is correct dosage according to your symptoms.
It will take 3-4 weeks to improve your symptoms.

I would suggest you to continue your medication along with food rich in Vitamin B12 and d3 like meat, eggs ,cheese, shellfish, fish oil, milk. Adding them in your diet regularly, keeps your B12 and D3 levels adequately.

You need not worry. Please continue your medication.

If your symptoms are not improving you can take Intramuscular injections for deficiency at regular intervals as per your doctor advice.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.
