Brief Answer:
There are many treatment options.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

There are many medicines and treatment options that are currently used to increase the pigment content like.

1. Phototherapy remains the mainstay of treatment e.g NB-UVB and PUVA. NB-UVB is the most preferred form of therapy for patients with generalized vitiligo.

The duration of photo-therapy varies according to the severity/extent of vitiligo. There is no fixed duration for photo-therapy.

It is individualized for each patient. The duration can vary from a few weeks to a few months depending on the response. Photo-therapy can be continued even for maintenance after a satisfactory response.

2. Psoralen photo-chemotherapy along with photo-therapy.

3. Laser therapy.

4. Steroid therapy in which topical and oral steroids are used as per the case.

5. Topical tacrolimus ointment (0.03% or 0.1%) is an effective alternative therapy for vitiligo.Vitamin D analogs can also be helpful.

You will have to consult a dermatologist to better understand the problem and treatment options, you can not use any of these treatments without a dermatologist as it maybe evident from the names alone.

I hope this answers your question.

Regards.
