Question : Hi Doctor,

I am 33 year old married man with very active sexual life. I never had intercourse with anyone outside my relationship. But I had some physical contact with couple of women 1 year back. Recently, around 2 months back I noticed some white scars in my foreskin without pain or itching. Now it has started in the gland around the penis lips. I am really scared. Please advice me doctor. Also attached the pics for your observation.

Vitiligo or lichen sclerosus et atrophicus, answer few questions

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photographs.
It seems to be either vitiligo or lichen sclerosus et atrophicus.
I need to ask you few questions:
Is the texture of the skin over the white patches normal or is it wrinkled?
Do you have white patches anywhere on the body?
Are you having any complaints on the white patches?
Kindly revert with the answers.

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

The texture of the skin is plain not wrinkled.
I don't have any other white patches in the body.
I don't have any complaints in those areas.

Moreover,

Is it a serious concern?
Can we stop the spreading? Or cure the problem?

Pls advice.

Regards,
doctor

Brief Answer:
Seems to be vitiligo, topical steroid & tacrolimus ointment

Detailed Answer:
It seems to be vitiligo.
It is a chronic autoimmune depigmenting disease of the skin.
It is not something very serious.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like mometasone cream on the white areas once daily in the morning and tacrolimus 0.1 percent ointment on the affected areas at night for 3-4 weeks.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
