Suggest Treatment For Warts On Feet

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Jun 2016
Question: I am skeptical whether I have corn/warts in my feet. But the doctor nearby told it is a Wart.

My understanding goes that Wart is communicable but corns are not. After many days of developing warts/corns I wore a tight shoe. After removing it, I felt one more corn in my feet. So I think it is not a wart. But again, my room mate had the same things in his feet before I had it.

So, I am skeptical whether it is a corn or wart.

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.

Warts are caused by human papilloma virus (hpv). It is an infection and can occur anywhere on sole Corns are circumscribed thckenings of skin and usually develop at sites of pressure/friction. There can be a single wart on sole and there can be more than one corn. Number is not a differentiating factor between a corn and a wart.
The appearance of each of these is distinctive. Warts have interrupted dermatoglyphics and on paring may have black dots which correspond to thrombosed capillaries. Corns on the other hand are thick, yellowish, have intact dermatoglyphics and has no black dots on paring.

Hi.

I have reviewed the attachments. These are all warts. I suggest you to apply topical keratolytics e.g either Duofilm liquid or Salactin paint, once daily at night with the help of an applicator.
