Suggest Treatment For Warts On The Anal Region

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Aug 2016
Question: Hello! My boyfriend had something strange in the anus region and says it's only reaction to hair removal , but I fear that is hpv or herpes or other sexually-transmitted disease. He did not want to go see the doctor and says his health is okay. I'm very anxious. I made a photo and need an opinion . This does not have burning or itching , or bother , it is not rough , like warts , unless it is a different kind of hpv .. need an opinion to the case, to convince him to be treated if necessary. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

I have reviewed the photograph. There are two possibilities here. One is that these are simply "skin tags" and are not harmful. However, there is also a real possibility this could be HPV. This is certainly not a reaction to hair removal. I recommend you and your partner both get tested for a full STI panel, including HPV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, herpes 1 & 2, and syphilis.
