Question : As you more then likely cane see in my previous questions,it is always concerning breast cancer, now in remission. I did very good after the last chemo treatment in 1-3-2013, went back to work when started radiation, was rough, but did it, all 33 treatments. Did very good, until about 10 months, first did not pay attention to all the little aches, got up in ages to, but it got worse fast, had birthday last month and didn't feel like I got 1 year older but 10. When I got diagnosed 2 years ago I felt great, could do more work then my children, now 2 years later I feel like I am 81 not 61, no one ages that fast. By every turn something goes wrong health wise, stay tired, vision got real bad, joint pain constantly. Stil work, 12 hour shift, come home and barley can get out the car by myself. Never did a bone scan, Pet scan, my oncologist rushed me through my treatments and retired, my new oncologist don't same to care, tells me not to sweat the small stuff and go on. Did the chemo did this, I still have to work for 6 to 7 more years, and I feel terrible. Don't know what to do. The only answer I get is retirer, not an option for me right now.

Brief Answer:
Get PET scan

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
I can understand your feeling but you should take a step and feel yourself strong to deal with this problems.Chemo and radiation can cause weakness and joint pains.
In my opinion you should first consult a good oncologist and then go for your PET scan or bone scan.
You should rule out the recurrence of cancer also( it is very common after 2 yrs).
Do not feel depressed, be positive.
Take healthy diets rich in vitamin. eat vegetables and fruits.
Do some exercise, yoga to make yourself healthy and fit.
Do not take retirement, make yourself engage.
I think I have answered your query if you have further questions I will be happy to help you.
Good luck.
Regards
Dr. Richa

After I finished all the treatments I never had any of those test, Pet scan, bone scan like most cancer patients, my new oncologist answer to this question was that according the XXXXXXX cancer society those test do not lengthen a persons live. That is not the reason why I want any of these test, just to be sure all the cancer is gone. My surgeon made me keep in my port for a other year, His answer was that triple negative has a history of coming back and the pick year is after 3 years usually.I already have it in since 9-12-2012 Is it a wonder I would like to have any of those test done. Maybe a would be better of finding a different oncologist. My old oncologist should have taken care of those test before He retired, have the feeling that my new oncologist cane do no wonders on me any more and He is not interested, but for the first 5 years I do need a oncologist.

Hi,
Nice to see you again.
Yes! first of all it matters or not but you should be in touch with a good oncologist he may at least listen you carefully.
In my opinion at this stage of your problem you require one at least who care and listen about you.
Medical treatment hardly make any difference in your situation.
Please be with the people who encourage you and feel strong from inside.
If you require any help from my side I am always there for you.
If you want to ask more questions I will be happy to answer you.
Good luck.
