Brief Answer:
Depends on severity and type of injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.

-What kind of injuries and how many have you had?
-what was the treatment administered?

Ankle injury, especially repeated ones can take a long while to heal.
The duration and extent of healing would depend on the type and severity of the injury.

Most ankle injuries, if treated early enough recover completely. However the associated muscle and ligament/tendon injury will need proper post operative/post traumatic care and physiotherapy.

Age too, plays aa role in the healing process. If you any other medical illness (diabetes, heart disease for instance) healing may not be complete it will take longer.

I suggest:
- an orthopedic consult with all your previous injuries and treatment
-maintain a healthy and active lifestyle without much strain to your ankles
-wear supportive shoes and avoid activity that puts a lot of strain on knees
-low impact work out like ellipticals or walking or swimming rather that jogging/running is advisable. (after you consult your doctor) to avoid injury to the ankle.

Proper rest, care, and therapy can heal most injuries unless they were too severe begin with.

Repeated injuries does take longer but there is no reason that it should remain so with the proper treatment.(unless, as mentioned, was severe to start with)

Hope this helps.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
