Question: my daughter's weight is 55 kg. age 13 height 4.8. please guide to reduce her weight and to improve height .

As per the data given her BMI is 37.57 kg/m2 which is suggestive of overweight. The normal BMI range is 15.3 - 22.5 kg/m2 & her ideal weight should be 22 - 33 kgs.

The following lifestyle changes are advised to reduce her body weight:

1. Avoiding high caloric or refined sugars (carbohydrate) from the diet and replacing with complex carbohydrate diet such as oats, wheat, rice.
2. She should drink more water
3. Avoiding fatty meals, fast and junk foods
4. Taking a protein rich diet such as lean meat, poultry or fish
5. Increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables.
6. Using the smaller plates or reducing the portion of the meals
7. By doing regular physical exercise
