Suggest Treatment For Weight Loss And Uterine Fibroids

Question: I am 48 years old. I have a big girl most of my life. I have a large skeletal frame. I now learned I have Arthritis in one knee and a minor tear in the other. I have also been trying to lose weight most of my life. I am generally an active person, hiking, dancing, zumba, curves, tae-bo anything to keep me active.
I also have a fibroid. MY stomach makes me look six months pregnant. I have had this problem most of my life.
I lost about 25lbs two years ago but it did not look like I had. I am currently on a low-carb diet (I admit, sweets are my downfall but I am trying.) Despite my exercises, I still a lot of fat deposit around my waist, where the arms rest against the sides of the breasts, and my inner thighs have a fatty deposit closest to the pelvis despite the years of exercise. Is this an example of hormone overload? Can I take DHEA? What about cortisol hormone?

Are there natural remedies to deal with the fibroids? Weight loss? Why is it extremely difficult for me to simply just lose the weight with a change in diet and exercise?

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Your tendency to put on / lose weight is genetically determined, some people find it more difficult to lose weight.
This difficulty gets more pronounced in the 40s, due to associated hormonal changes.
The way fat is deposited in bodies ( essentially, your body type ) is also genetically inherited.
The areas where you have fat deposits are the areas commonly found troublesome even in lean women as far as fat content is concerned.
Diet and exercise will help you achieve a healthy BMI, body contouring might not be possible, and it is best to accept the type of body you have and relish that experience.
You should not take DHEA or any other hormones without an indication.
Regarding the fibroid, I would like to know the details of the size, location, texture, etc.
Certain types can be dealt with hormonally, and others might require surgery.
So please upload the scan report so that I can comment on the type of fibroid and the necessary treatment.
All the best
