Question : White bump on the side of my tongue that is painful

Apthous ulcer.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
It looks like an Apthous ulcer based on your description.
I would recommend in such case to apply q Triamnicolone 0.01% paste locally over the affected area thrice daily and continue rinsing with lukewarm saline water.
Take a zinc containing Multivitamin for a short course.
In case you have any Acid reflux you would need a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone once daily.
