Question: I have a white spot on my penis. It appeared as red about a week ago, has since turned white. With erection 3-days ago, it started to bleed like a crack opened up. Not bad. Cleaned and used liquid bandage. I have a picture. It is not puffy or sore.

Brief Answer:
Looks like infective ulcer, need to find cause

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.

I have seen the attached picture.
You seem to have developed an ulcer over the penile shaft.
I would like to know certain details from you to find the cause of such an ulcer.
Although I largely suspect it to be a pyogenic ulcer, still I would like to rule out various std's.
Please tell if you had any outside sexual contact recently. If yes,how much time before the development of thus ulcer .
Any similar lesions in the past.
Do you have diabetes ?
Any trauma to the shaft of penis recently or any rough intercourse.

I am sure I will be able to help you better once you provide me the above details .

I answered, but don't believe it went through - so here again I answer... I have simulated rough sex through masterbration and use of penile pump. I do not have diabetes. I have heart failure, defribulator IDC implant and can't have MRI's. I have recently have swelling in right knee - to the inside of the cap. ER Doctor diagnosed GOUTY ARTHRITIS, subsequent OSTEO surgeon took - X-rays show narrowing because of my osteo arthritis and possible minces tear because of the swelling. I have 24/7 pain from this and hesitate to operate because without the MRI, it would be exploratory and may be arthritis related. I had a rotar cuff injury that arthritis set it and have not operated for same reason. I have low immune - get infection and pnemenonia easily- OSTEO doctor gave me XXXXXXX shot in the knee steroids and a follow up shot with some gel in it no relief. I had pnemunomia for 4.5 months or mare this last winter/spring - could hardly shake it. Is this sexually transmitted disease? Could this be related to the low immune system and other problems I have?

Brief Answer:
Traumatic ulcer due to rough handling

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

You seem to have developed a traumatic ulcer due to some minor injury during rough handling of the genitals. This does not seem to be related to any std,so don't worry about it.
Maintain a good local hygiene by cleaning the affected area with lukewarm water twice a day followed by application of a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin cream over the ulcer twice a day.
The lesion should heal in three to five days with this treatment .
If however,it tend to persist or increase in size, then you might have to see a local dermatologist for oral antibiotic prescription .
