Brief Answer:
“Lichen nitidus”: very simple condition and vanish with age.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the white dots on your daughter’s skin. As a parent it is really very important to see all the odds in our kids.
After analyzing the pictures with best diligence I can make out a probable diagnosis of “Lichen nitidus”.

To tell you simply regarding this condition: Our skin is multilayered structure and it contains various glands in it. Sometimes there occurs bit mild inflammation of the skin and then the skin is raised at these areas. Here itself we find discrete and uniform, shiny, flat-topped, pale flesh-colored eruptions.

The other diagnosis I keep it as “Miliaria”: regarding this condition too- There are very specific gland known as sweat gland is distributed all over body. Its function is to secret sweat outside.

In any case if the pore of gland is bit blocked then the sweat is not able to come outside. This condition then manifests as small whitish eruptions which we call as “Miliaria”.

IN miliaria it occurs for very short duration of time such as for few weeks and in case of lichen nitidus it remains for multiple months to years. So going by your history I will go with lichen nitidus.

There is nothing to be worried about both the conditions as are very commonly seen condition and more specific in younger kids and adolescents. I reassure you that these are very simple condition and vanish with age.

There are various suggestion to follow:

I suggest certain more suggestions as below:

- Keep herself away from hot and humid climate.

- Let her take daily bath.

- Wear cotton clothes and cotton undergarments to be changed two times a day. Do not wear any synthetic or tight garments.

- Do not sit continuously for long hours in hot humid climate.

-Don't try to scratch or rub the area as can lead to further aggravation of the problem.

There is no need of any active treatment and you can just give her the best of nutritional diet with lot of fruits and vegetables.

Hope these informations will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to help.
