Suggest Treatment For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Hydrocodone

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Mar 2015
Question: I have joint pain and use hydocodone - 10 milliigrams each day only and tramadol, only because it was prescribed in 1985 and probably withdrawal may be severe, Celebrex helps a great deal but I may have kidney problems as a result.
my non-regular doctor suggests immediate stoppage of all drugs and wearing of a duragesic patch instead.
It this advisable - I do not believe so, so help

Brief Answer:
Consider visiting a drug rehabilitation centre.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

A major withdrawal symptom on withdrawal of the meds could be the pain itself. In that case, duragesic patch could help. The mental impetus of getting off the medication is often more important rather than gradual withdrawal from the medicine. But you may consider visiting a deaddiction centre who might help you in systematically excluding the use of hydrocodone. Certain other supportive medications to overcome the withdrawal symptoms, might be needed. In any case, I also think that perhaps the medicine needs to be removed.

Hope that helps.
