Brief Answer:
these are not corticosteroid withdrawal symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

first of all you haven't taken too much corticosteroid to cause any kind of problem when quitting, so your assumption is not right. Besides that corticosteroid withdrawal does exactly the opposite, it causes low blood pressure. I can't approach your blood pressure problem with current information. Based on the information you've provided I can suggest a possible scenario but I can't do anything more than that. So the scenario goes like this: prednisone causes sodium and water retention which may cause various problems. In normal healthy individuals this may have only minimal consequences. In other individuals it may even cause heart failure with pulmonary edema or lung effusions, swollen legs, high blood pressure, etc.

If your blood pressure is too high (systolic higher than 160mmHg) or if you have edema anywhere or if you still have shortness of breath, then I suggest you pay your doctor another visit for assessment.

I hope it helps!
Kind Regards!
