Question : I have a yeast infection that won't go away even after using Monistat and then the pill. What could it be?
Brief Answer:
It's likely to be mixed infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Yeast infection is a fungal infection called candidiasis or moniliasis and responds well to intravaginal antifungal suppositories along with antifungal tablet Flucanazole 150mg. If it has not responded, it is likely to be a mixed infection. Trichomonas vaginalis infection produces symptoms similar to yeast infection and requires treatment with metronidazole or tinidazole.
