Brief Answer: Dont worry Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for writing to health care magic. Exchange transfusion is done if the jaundice is very high. But if the baby is discharged and is otherwise fine, don't worry , there shouldn't be a problem. Continue medicines as advised. But you need to follow-up the baby for neurological development every month to see if the jaundice had affected the brain. But I sincerely hope that he should become well in a few days. Brief Answer: Difficult to predict Detailed Answer: It's difficult to predict the neurological outcome . Only time and followup will pickup abnormalities. If found early appropriate stimulation and treatment can help a lot. But there may not be any damage too. Only neurological followups would tell. Just make sure you followup regularly. Get all vaccinations done. For the heart , 3mm is very small. Should close , get an echo in 6 months time. Regards Dr Arun
