Question: Am a 49 year old male having BP for the past 19 years. Initially I was prescribed cipril 5mg and subsequently after few years corpril 5mg. Now for the past 4 years or so I have been taking Tazloc 40 mg once daily and my BP is maintained at 120/80 all these years. But for the past 15 days my BP has become 130/100 or 130/95 with pain on one side of head and back of head. Am not also able to sleep well with light sleep and dreams. Can I increase the dosage of Tazloc40 to Tazloc 40 In the morning and Tazloc 20 at night before i show myself to a cardiologist.

Brief Answer:
Control of BP

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Your systolic BP is well-controlled(90 mm hg).
In your case addition of small dose of diuretic will be a better option e.g Chlorthalidone 6.25 mg Once a day.
Tazloc CT 40/6.25MG having a composition of Telmisartan 40 MG+Chlorthalidone 6.25 mg in the morning in place of Tab Tazloc 40 is advisable.

About the Management of BP

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

So long you are taking anti-hypertensive drug of two different classes ie Tazloc/telmisartan(Angiotensin II receptor blocker/ARB) and Stamlo/amlodipine (calcium channel blockers /CCB) to control BP, it is perfectly reasonable .
You can take the drug as advised by your doctor till review.
