Question : Hi doctor , My mother who is 67 years of age is diabetic . from last 1 to 2 months her knee is paining a lot while climbing stairs and sitting. can you please suggest what to be done for relief from pain.
Brief Answer:
Non Nsaid pain killers
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You can give her Tab Ultracet for pain relief not more than twice a day.
Avoid other painkillers (NSAIDs) as they can be harmful for kidney in diabetics.
Also giving calcium supplements Like Tab TAYO once daily for 2 months would strengthen the bones.
Do get her vitamin D levels to rule out the Vit Deficiency which usually presents with joint and bone pains. If deficient she might have to be supplemented.
Hope I answered your query.
