Question : I get some brown discharge everytime right after my periods. Generally on 4t, 5th, 6th day I notice some brown stains on my panty. This has been happening since a very long time. It started precisely after I started using tampons. But I have stopped using them now.
I got myself checked. Doctor noticed some white discharge and put me on antifungal medication for 2 weeks. Later I got pap smear done. There was no infection.
But still I am concerned about the vaginal flora. I am concerned about it because my boyfriend caught some serious urinary tract infection after we had sex. Are there any vaginal suppositories which will restore the vaginal flora?

To restore the vaginal flora, you can take prebiotics orally. Usually after an infection, the vaginal flora and pH returns to normal within a week. There is no specific suppositories needed to restore the flora.
Normal vaginal flora does not cause a urinary infection. The urinary infection that your boyfriend caught could have been transmitted to you also. Do increase your fluid intake and get oral prebiotics prescribed from your gynecologist. You can also apply 2 tablespoons of live active culture plain yogurt to the insides of the vaginal walls and to the outside surfaces to restore the natural flora.
