Question: Hello Doctor,
My 3.5 year old daughter is very finicky about eating. Sprouts curry, rice, roti and multigrain porridge is her staple. She also has about 200 ml milk and 200 ml Sofit Soyamilk in a day. She does not like fruits or leafy vegetables. To top it, we are vegetarians. All in all, not all vitamins, minerals, protiens are included in her diet. Could you please suggest some multi-vitamin syrup or some food supplement?

Brief Answer:
No multivitamin is needed if growth is adequate

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I completely understand your concern.
I want to let you know that vegetarian diet if given in balanced way is sufficient to meet the daily requirement of all the nutrients, including vitamins.
Complete vegetarian diet (even milk and milk products) is poor source of Vitamin B 12 and vitamin D.But if you are giving milk and milk product there is no need to worry.

Even if you want to supplement you can give A to Z syrup (multivitamin supplement)2.5 ml twice a day for 1-2 months.
I won't get worried if growth (weight and height)of child is normal and there is no need of food supplements.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Wishing for your baby's good health.
Regards
