Suggest Ways To Avoid Pregnancy After Intercourse
Question: Hi Doc This is a question on behalf of my friend He n his gf had sex n there is a possibility of pregnancy . How to avoid it? She had a date itseems on that day. But its already 3 days over no periods wt to do to avoid pregnancy
Brief answer....confirm pregnancy first and frankly speaking no medicine can be given now till the confirmation of pregnancy because it is already more than 3 days since unprotected sex.

I have read your query and understand your concern.
First of all I would like to make it clear to you that if you do an unprotected sex on the day of your periods or even a day or two before your periods,then chances of pregnancy are as good as nil.
Now coming to your question....
Delay in periods can be there in absence of pregnancy and there can be various reasons for that like stress,some illness,recent change in working schedule,some recent illness,medicines ,overactivity,obesity etc.
Now you should first go for pregnancy test to see whether pregnancy is there or not.
If it is negative,go for a repeat test again after a gap of three days and preferably with first urine sample of morning. You can even go for blood pregnancy test also.
Once you are sure that pregnancy is present,then you can consult a doctor and get either medical or surgical abortion under his/ her guidance.
In case pregnancy is absent,then you can wait for couple of weeks. By then you should get your normal periods and if periods still don't come,you can get prescription of medicines from your doctor which can kickstart your periods.
