Question : hello

i had sex with my girl friend 10 days ago , she might be pregnant ( we are not sure yet )
in case she is , is there any safe way to make abortion using pills ?

Now, as already 10 days are over, emergency contraception is not possible.

Now the only option is abortion if pregnancy is confirmed. For that several methods are there, one of which is with medicines like mifepristone. But it has to be done under supervision of gynecologist.

Emergency contraceptive pills, to be taken within 3 days of unprotected intercourse, are available over the counter. But medical abortion, which is done after the fetus has developed, is a serious matter. The drugs are not available over the counter.

There are various potential complications, like bleeding, vomiting, pain, fever, inability to expel all uterine contents, etc which require constant supervision of doctor. These side effects do not occur in everybody but potential is always there.

Hence medical abortion is not only unsafe without doctor, it is illegal also.
