Hello!
Yes, Play Doh can get under nails and dry there and be difficult to get out. I would leave it until your son's bath time, then let him have plenty of time to play in the tub. After his hands are well soaked, gently brush under the nails with a very soft tooth brush and soapy water. You may be able to remove more of it doing this. The rest will work it's way out over time. It is non-toxic, and if the remaining amount is unlikely to cause pain or problems.
The toothbrush should be very soft, and clean (preferably new or cleaned) so that you don't work bacteria from an old brush under there.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you need further information.
