Question : Good evening, I am taking 2.5 mg of losartin for high BP. I Just checked my BP (I have a WelchAllyn OSZ5 BP monitor) it was 154/100 with a pulse of 76. I took my BP meds at 0630 this morning. I feel fine otherwise. Should I take another pill? I have an appointment with my provider this month and plan to discuss my BP again. I have been on meds for high BP since August 2016. Thank you

You can increase the dose of LOSARTAN

Hi There
I have read the details provided by you I would like to suggest you that if I would have been your treating doctor I would like the increase the dose of LOSARTAN first as you are taking a minimal dose.
So its advisable to increase the dose to 5 mg first for a week and keep monitoring your blood pressure till then.
If this doesn't bring down the evening BP reading then we can add another drug.
And also please do maintain healthy lifestyle habits along with dietary control for more holistic Blood pressure control.
