Question : My question is pertaining to the consistent bombardment of flies, bees, mosquitoes, and gnats, whenever I am outside, and occasionally inside anybodies home. This problem has extremely affected my social life, self esteem, and confidence. I would very much like to get this problem figured out before the spring, when I'll have swarms of bugs around my head. Please Help!

Hi, thanks for asking from HCM for your health related doubts

I can understand your concern but need some more details of your problem. I'd like to know when you stay at home or at some familiar place even then do you suffer continuous bombardment of fleas?

Any thing that reduce this bombardment? Is this flea infestation continuous or occasional?

Have you ever visited a dermatologist for opinion? If yes what was the opinion of dermatology doctors?

Do you feel crawling of bug or can you also see these bugs?

Thanks, please provide me details so that we can proceed further.

Take care

When I'm inside I'll see one or two gnats flying around me occasionally. It can even be occasionally outside, but only when its cold or windy. Even when it's cold I'll still see flies ( for example on top of a snowy mountain). My theory is that I was parasitized by some kind of fly or gnat when I had lizards living in my room. This problem seem to have started when I slept with my head next to a trash can in my room that started harvesting these flies. I haven't talked to a doctor yet because I'm afraid they'll tell me that this problem is hopeless.

Hello again and thanks for asking a follow up

I can understand your concern. These symptoms are occurring due to delusional parasitosis most probably. Please visit a doctor and don't think the problem is hopeless. You will recover from these symptoms without any worries. Try to remain hopeful. Medicines like antipsychotics as Olanzapine, Quetiapine, Risperidone etc can help to reduce these symptoms and thus can help you. Visit a psychiatrist for proper prescription.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Please don't hesitate to ask again for more doubts.

I'm sorry but your diagnosis is what I meant by hopeless. I am not delusional. Sometimes when I'm at another person's house flies will start to propagate, leading to a house full of common flies. I'm embarrassed because I know it is my fault these flies have become an infestation. It seems as though when I sweat or do physical activity, the flies and mosquitos are attracted to me more. Everything I've seen on the internet claims the same delusional diagnosis. But I'm not imagining these swarms of flies, fleas, or bugs above my head. Does it have something to do with my blood, skin, or diet?

Brief Answer:
Dermatological opinion should also be sought

Hello again and thanks for asking a follow up

I am not saying that you are delusional. But we should rule out this possibility also. This has nothing to do with blood, skin or diet but a dermatological opinion should be sought to rule out any skin related conditions.

Some neurological conditions might also aggravate such symptoms.

Thanks.
