Question : my doctor started me on 100 mg of losartan potassium. this made me very sick. is it okay to cut these pills in half?
Brief Answer:
Yes, can cut in half;measure blood pressure&report to your doctor...
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
1. You are saying to be taking lisinopril and losartan. They can't be used together. You should use either one of them, not both.
It is common to have coughing as side effect of taking lisinopril.
2. Losartan is a substitute to lisinopril if side effects (e.g. coughing) is present. If you end up being sick while taking 100 mg of losartan, you can cut it in half. But, should report this to your doctor.
Remember to measure your blood pressure (bp), record the results and pass them to your doctor for further evaluations (in order to reconsider the dosage).
Hope it answered to your primary query!
