2. what are the biggest downside of not breastfeeding? harder to get back in shape? baby allergies?
Brief Answer:
Stop feeding. cabbage leaves will help little.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The best way to decrease the production of milk is to stop feeding the baby. Lesser the sucking, lesser will be the milk secretion.
Not breast feeding makes you more prone to breast cancer, slows down the weight loss after delivery and decreases the baby's immunity. It can cause malnutrition in the baby.

thank u she has fed baby with breast milk for a week now. Is there a time of diminishing returns? is the early immunity breast fluid done? so can she safely alternate now? and, if she were to breast feed for, say , another week,....would that be a good thing?
as for her breast cancer risk, ... having a baby before 30 reduces rsik... so, she is 47.... does feeding or not feeding matter now?

Brief Answer:
Breast feeding is very safe and beneficial.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The longer you feed the baby the better it is- this is true for the first four months. It is better if she feeds for another week. This will help in better immunity of the baby and will decrease the risk of infections.
Even feeding the baby after 47 reduces the risk of breast cancer to some extent. The benefits of breast feeding a baby can never be under estimated. It is a thing which should not be stopped unless medically indicated.
Hope my answer is helpful.
