Brief Answer:
Regesterone can be taken

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

Regesterone can be taken 5 mg twice daily for as long as you want to delay the periods. You will get the periods within 5 days of stopping the medicine. The medicine can be started atleast 2 days prior to expected date of menstruation.

This medicine may not be available over-the-counter.

Hello Dr. Vaishalee,

Thank you for your response. I have some questions:
1. Does this medication have any side effects? I need to be physically very fit in this duration.
2. When do I take the 2 doses? after meals? morning and night?

Thanks,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Medicine may cause irregular periods

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

The medicine may cause irregular periods. It is not a side effect but it happens because we disturb the natural rhythm of the female hormones. It tends to get normal after a few months. Among side effects, it is safe and may cause some irritability. Physically you will be fit.

It can be taken after meals morning and night.

Hello Dr. Vaishalee,

Is Regesterone 5 mg the same as Meprate 10 mg? Because that is what my local chemist asked to purchase. Just wanted to check with you before taking it.
I promise this will be the last question from me on this topic :)

Thank you,

Brief Answer:
They are different medicines

Detailed Answer:
Regesterone and meprate are different medicines. Regesterone dose is 5 mg BD to TDS per day and meprate dose is 10 mg BD per day.

Both are prescribed by doctors to postpone periods. Take one of them.

You can ask further for any clarifications. When it comes to gynecological issues, natural is always the best.

Thanks
