Question : I am 23 years old, around 3 years back i was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Because I had high TSH levels the doctor had prescribed me 50 mcg dosage of Thyronorm to be taken once in the morning before breakfast. He also asked me to visit after 4 weeks which I never did. Ever since I have been following this dosage. The result of my last two TSH test report shows TSH levels at 4.2 and 4.6 respectively. The tests were conducted within the last 6 months. Should I continue to do the same or should I change the dosage ?

Sorry correction needed. My latest TSH test suggests that my TSH level is 3.94 ( not 4.6 as I had mistakenly mentioned ). My sugar levels are normal. I am uploading my latest TSH, blood sugar test and Lipid Profile. My blood pressure varies around 135 systolic and 80 diastolic.

                                    Brief Answer:
Continue with the same thyronorm dosage.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX
welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and gone through all the attached reports that you uploaded.
1) Since your TSH value (latest 3.94) is completely normal then you should continue with the same dosage further. There is no need to change the dosage.
But thyroid tablet (Thyronorm 50 mcg) must be taken on empty stomach to get maximum absorption from the stomach as food might interfere with its absorption.
Ideally it is taken after 2 hours of having meal or before 45 minutes of meal.
Means it is best not to eat anything for at least 1 hour after taking thyronorm.
2) Your triglycerides and LDL cholesterol are mildly elevated but both the Total chol/HDL ratio and LDL/HDL ratio are completely normal then there is no need to worry.
3) Blood sugar and urea, creatinie reports are also normal.
4) Systolic 135 mmhg blood pressure and diastolic 80 mmhg is within normal limits.
Hope this detailed answer will be helpful.

Even though my normal pressure averages around 135/80 but during the last couple of weeks I have twice measured my pressure to be 140/80 and 146/85 respectively. Isn't it matter of concern ? I am not supposed to have hypertension in my age. What might be the reason ? Should I go for medication for safety or is there an alternative ?
I have already stated my condition in the previous query. Also i would like you to know that though I am not fat nor slim I am overweight. My height is 5 ft 9 in and weight is 83 kgs.

                                    Brief Answer:
No need of any medication.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
140/80 or 146/85 blood pressure is not a high or we can say it is a high normal and definitely NOT the indication to start any anti-hypertensive drug at this point of time.
Since upper (systolic) blood pressure fluctuates more than diastolic pressure,so I would not be personally worried about it and will not recommend to take any medication.
But you can check your pressure regularly for initial few days in sitting, standing and lying down positions.
You may take anti-anxiety pill (like Recita forte) if you have stressful life or do not have adequate sleep in night but consult your family doctor first for the prescription of this drug.
Your BMI is around 26.88 considering your height and weight and it is mildly high but it is not a much concern.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have more questions.
