Suggest Ways To Increase Breast Milk Production

Question: Hi All,

I want to know how much a new born baby required milk in each feeding and what to do if milk is not sufficient for the baby ?

Also want to know if any special diet of take care of increase milk quantity of mothers milk .

baby is 2.5 weeks old at the time of birth his weight is 3.9 kg and now weight 3.6kg

to increase breast milk production.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Ideally 30 ml of breast feed every 2hrly is sufficient for the new born to meet his needs.
If the milk flow is not properly established then she may take TAB METOCLOPROMIDE 10mg x twice a day for 3 days and this shall improve milk production. Also , naturally more she shall promote 2hrly feed, the more the baby shall suckle, the more shall be the milk production.
For diet, ideally legumes and pulses in diet is known to increase milk production especially moong daal.
