Brief Answer:
Have a growth chart plotted and follow up him

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concern

The ideal weight for 3 years is 14 kg and height is 94 cm. We usually evaluate when the weight is below 10 kg and height is below 84 cm at this age. The usual initial evaluation include complete blood count, liver and kidney functions, calcium, electrolytes and thyroid function tests.

Please measure your son's height, your height and your wife's height. Growth charts are available on internet for XXXXXXX children (sample: http://www.ijem.in/viewimage.asp?img=IndianJEndocrMetab_2011_15_7_166_84854_f3.jpg).

You can plot your child's height and weight in that chart for the corresponding age. The target adult height (genetic height) of your son is (1/2 (Father's height + Mother's height)) + 6.5 cm. You can plot this at 18 years in chart. You can plot the progress every 3-6 months to see if he is growing normally and appropriate for his target height. If the height or weight goes below the lowest line in the graph, you need to get concerned.

If the information is confusing, you can consult a pediatrician who can help you with plotting the height and weight chart.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
