Brief Answer:
Good Morning, I have been reviewing your health concerns

Detailed Answer:
Yes, I see you have multiple issues that need to be addressed.

Your concern seems to be losing stomach and chest fat as well as concern about gastrointestinal symptoms.

This is the type of situation I would like to follow with you, but let me see if I can give you enough guidance to get you started on the path of wellness.

Your question regarding testosterone. I looked at your picture and you have developed some breast tissue. I would wonder if you don't have an imbalance of your hormones and agree that you should have your testosterone levels checked. Do you also have a low sex drive? Do you take any weight lifting supplements?

There are weight lifting supplements that contain anti-estrogen/aromatase inhibitors and those work to boost your testosterone. Other stacks are zinc, fenugreek, vitamin D and dihydroepiandosterone. I don't advise these without telling your personal physician about this problem when you go get tested for your testosterone levels.

Next, how long have you been having your gastrointestinal problems, the constipation/gas/brain fog? Can you think of anything that might trigger your episodes?

Diet wise, the first thing I do when presented with the g.i. problem is to:
1. Take the lactose out of your diet. You can use lactaid pills (these can be put in milk and it will dissolve all lactose, the milk sugar that may contribute to your gas). You are possibly lactose intolerant.
2. Stay away from sugar alcohols used as sugar substitutes such as sorbitol ( the ol on the end gives the sugar alcohols away)
3. Watch how you chew, some people swallow air which makes gas bubbles
4. No broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower (gassy vegetables)
5. I suspect a food intolerance. Do you have a history of food allergies?
6. You can try cutting down on the wheat in your diet and see if your symptoms improve.
7. To promote bowel regularity, gradually start increasing both water and water-insoluble fiber sources up to 25-30 g/day with adequate fluid of 8-10 glasses per day.

Acid Reflux:
No spicy foods, small meals, lower all fat to 25%- 30% of calories(for both weight loss and acid reflux)
Limit caffeine
Do not eat 3 hours before bedtime
Sleep on an incline pillow available in home health stores
Small meals
May have milk allergy or hiatal hernia
Avoid Alcohol
Avoid tight garments/pants
May take antacid over the counter or talk to doctor about prescription (try diet and other suggestions first before medication if you can)

If you know of anyone that does food allergy testing, you may want to consider that. I would do Alcat testing if you were my patient, but allergists can test as well using different types of testing. It may be helpful to keep a food/symptom diary and then make an appointment with a dietitian for a complete assessment and Plan of Care.

If I can clarify anything for you, please follow-up with me. If I have answered your question enough to provide you the guidelines you wanted, please close the question out and rate it please.
Healthy Regards, XXXXXXX Shattler, MS,RDN

hey I do have lots of sex throughout the week and did not lose any sex drive but I have a saggy body type with minimal muscle definition . I have been training hard in the gym for 5 years and no success. I have had a bloated stomach since I was 15 years old and now I'm 23. Upon waking I burp and have stomach pain throughout the day. Could it be stomach bacteria or a fatty liver ? I got tested for liver but nothing came up . I feel super uncomfortable throughout the day

Brief Answer:
Hello again

Detailed Answer:
If you are referring to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease:
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease usually causes no signs and symptoms. When it does, they may include:

Fatigue
Pain in the upper right abdomen
Weight loss

Bacteria usually do not grow in the stomach due to its high acidity.

Food intolerance remains my best suspicion. Perhaps eating or drinking something you are sensitive to is still a concern as mentioned earlier.

My other idea to discuss with your physician is XXXXXXX or Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, a common, often “silent” liver disease. It resembles alcoholic liver disease, but occurs in people who drink little or no alcohol. The major feature in XXXXXXX is fat in the liver, along with inflammation and damage. Most people with XXXXXXX feel well and are not aware that they have a liver problem. Nevertheless, XXXXXXX can be severe and can lead to cirrhosis, in which the liver is permanently damaged and scarred and no longer able to work properly

Experimental approaches under evaluation in patients with XXXXXXX include antioxidants, such as vitamin E, selenium, and betaine. These medications act by reducing the oxidative stress that appears to increase inside the liver in patients with XXXXXXX Whether these substances actually help treat the disease is not known, but the results of clinical trials should become available in the next few years.
XXXXXXX is usually first suspected in a person who is found to have elevations in liver tests that are included in routine blood test panels, such as alanine aminotransferase (ALT) or aspartate aminotransferase (AST). When further evaluation shows no apparent reason for liver disease (such as medications, viral hepatitis, or excessive use of alcohol) are ruled out XXXXXXX is considered.

ASH is usually a silent disease with few or no symptoms. Patients generally feel well in the early stages and only begin to have symptoms—such as fatigue, weight loss, and weakness—once the disease is more advanced or cirrhosis develops. The progression of XXXXXXX can take years, even decades. The process can stop and, in some cases, reverse on its own without specific therapy. Or XXXXXXX can slowly worsen, causing scarring or “fibrosis” to appear and accumulate in the liver. As fibrosis worsens, cirrhosis develops; the liver becomes seriously scarred, hardened, and unable to function normally. Not every person with XXXXXXX develops cirrhosis, but once serious scarring or cirrhosis is present, few treatments can halt the progression. A person with cirrhosis experiences fluid retention, muscle wasting, bleeding from the intestines . . .

Another experimental approach to treating XXXXXXX is the use of newer anti-diabetic medications—even in persons without diabetes. Most patients with XXXXXXX have insulin resistance, meaning that the insulin normally present in the bloodstream is less effective for them in controlling blood glucose and fatty acids in the blood than it is for people who do not have XXXXXXX The newer anti diabetic medications make the body more sensitive to insulin and may help reduce liver injury in patients with XXXXXXX Studies of these medications—including metformin, rosiglitazone, and pioglitazone—are being sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.

The abdominal problems have not been looked at by x-ray? Anytime you have idiopathic constipation and go for a prolonged period of time without going you should have an x-ray for an impaction.

In addition you have striations on your skin. This makes me wonder if you shouldn't see an endocrinologist to have your testosterone, estrogen levels checked.

Cut down on the fat in your diet and all refined carbohydrates, added sugars, processed foods, fried foods, restaurant foods to get that fat metabolized and boost lean protein. You would benefit from seeing a Dietitian for an individualized nutrition and exercise program.

These are additional considerations in response to your followup questions.

I hope I gave you new insights into your possible situation.Regards, XXXXXXX Shattler, MS,RDN
