Brief answer...explained below.
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and feel that you are asking about the weight loss, although you have written figures wrongly ( probably typing mistake ).
Any ways the question is about the weight loss.
I presume you have lost 9 pounds in past 2 weeks.
If you are doing regular exercises and doing calorie restriction, then this weightloss is all right but if this weightloss is unintentional, then definitely it is a cause of concern.
Although there are various reasons for an unintentional weight loss, but the most common cause for such type of weight loss is generally diabetes and specially when you are giving a history of regular alcohol consumption and drinking plenty of water.
You must consult your doctor immediately and get your blood sugar fasting and PP done to know the blood sugar status.
In case it is normal, then you would need a thorough and detailed investigations to find the cause for such weight loss.
But first get your blood sugar levels one.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks

Hello,
Yes it is not normal.
Why should a person loose 9 pounds in a week without trying for it ?
As a doctor,I would not like to ignore it.
There definitely appears to be some reason behind it which should be explored.
Thanks

G/morning Dr.
My original weight loss was about 8 pounds in 2 week!
Is that due to the drinking and will the weight come back on if I stop the drinking?
In othr words is the cause of the loss due to the alcohol?
Thanks

Hello,
I again ask why did you loose weight ?
We have to find the real culprit behind it.
Alcohol in itself won't cause weight loss unless and until you are not eating anything at all.
Alcohol causes weight indirectly by causing some disease process.
If it is a disease, then it can be rectified.
In case no disease process is found, you can relax.
Consumption of heavy alcohol can give rise to various diseases like diabetes and tuberculosis at one end and cancer on other end or there may not be anything at all.
You should definitely go to doctor and get investigated.
Thanks
