                                    Brief Answer:
Further clarification sought
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.
Lean means devoid of fat. But you already mention that you are not fat. You already mention that you are muscular, so I presume that you have a good physique. So I would request you to precisely and clearly redefine what you would like to know. In such a case I would request for the details of your height so that I can work out your BMI. Also clarify whether you want to lose the musculature that you might have put on in the wrong places.
Apart from workout in the gym, you also need to take care of your diet. It should have more of protein content.
I would await your clarification.

                                    Brief Answer:
The musculature can be remodelled by modifying the exercise regimen
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for explaining. You need what is known as resistive training (RT) in order to modify the muscular structure. When you do a gym training, there are two kinds of muscular hypertrophy that could occur:
* Myofibrillar Hypertrophy. Gives a denser look but less muscle size.
* Sarcoplasmic Hypertrophy. More muscle size but you don’t get as strong.
In your case probably the latter has happened and you need to talk to your gym trainer for modification of the exercise regimen so that the former can be achieved. Tell him that the objective is to strengthen the muscles rather than gaining bulk of the muscles. The musculature that you can already gained, can be restructured.
