Question : Hi, my husband's blood sugar is 454, the highest it has eve been. How can we get it down?

Considering his age, heart status and current Blood sugar level of 454, he should seek immediate medical attention.

You should take him to ER.
He requires detailed clinical evaluation.
Following investigation may require on emergency basis.
- Urine ketones.
- Serum Ketones.
- Renal function test - urea, creatinine, electrolytes.
- Complete Blood Count.
- ECG.

Depending upon clinical examination and above test results further evaluation can be planned.

He may require intravenous insulin treatment and intravenous fluids for blood sugar control.
