Suggest Ways To Manage Severe Leg Pain After Complete Hysterectomy

default
Posted on Fri, 31 Mar 2017
Question: I am a 54-yr-old female. I've had a complete hysterectomy 21 years ago, due to endometriosis. I have fibromyalgia (diagnosed in 1994), which makes exercising very difficult. I also have a nerve condition (since 2014) that causes acute, chronic, and constant pain in my left leg - so my mobility is extremely limited. I take Vicodin & gabapentin around the clock for pain management.
Is there a safe, natural supplement - such as green tea tablets, coconut oil, and the like - that I can take to boost my metabolism? I don't eat as much as I used to, since my activity level has dropped so dramatically (I use a cane or a walker for support when moving around) - but I've gained 20-30 lbs in less than 3 years. This cannot continue...so I've been looking at supplements to boost my metabolism, but I am concerned about contraindications with my pain meds. My regular doctor visit isn't for another 2 months. Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for your query.
Reducing the carbs, fats and oils and consuming good protein has a thermogenic effect and boosts metabolism. Green tea, garlic, pepper, chilli, cinnamon and apple cider vinegar have ability to boost your metabolism. These have no adverse interaction with your medication.
Exercise is also important in boosting metabolism and losing weight. You could try non weight bearing exercises like ' Chair dance', dumbbells, swimming etc.
